Skateboard art to roll into Lawton

UW-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery will soon welcome the exhibition “Decked: Three Decades of Skateboard Decks,” guest-curated by Aaron Polansky of Sky High Skateboard shop in Milwaukee. The opening reception and guest curator’s talk are at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. Polansky will be joined by Jesse Geeboy, a lender to the exhibition, for a gallery talk at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. The “Decked” exhibition is a mini-survey of more than 100 skate decks that traces the development of artwork on decks from the 1970s through 1990s. Videos and other items pertaining to skate culture will accompany the exhibition.
