Ashmann shares $50,000 ‘teacher quality’ grant from UW System
Scott Ashmann, an associate professor with UW-Green Bay’s Education program, and Craig Berg, UW-Milwaukee professor of science education, were recently awarded a $50,000 UW System grant for the 2011-12 academic year. Funded through the UW System Teacher Quality Initiative, their research will focus on developing more effective classroom-based evaluation instruments that assist with the professional development of high school science teachers. Ashmann will be working with both early-career and veteran chemistry teachers in Northeastern Wisconsin while Berg works with biology teachers in the Milwaukee area.
