Counseling/Health Center offers free suicide-prevention training on Sept. 15

It’s called “QPR Gatekeeper Training for Faculty, Staff and Students,” with the QPR standing for “Question, Persuade and Refer” and the training being compared to CPR training in that it saves people’s lives. It’s suicide-prevention session scheduled for Wednesday, Sept.15, noon to 1 p.m. in the University Union’s Alumni Room adjacent to Cloud Commons. One hour of your time might help you save a life, the Counseling and Health Center says, with training in three simple steps. You’ll learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and get help. Co-sponsored by the Counseling and Health Center and the Academic Staff Programming Committee at UW-Green Bay, in association with the Brown County Coalition for Suicide Prevention.  For more information, contact Greg Smith at ext. 2380.
