UWGB gets shoutout at Earth Day event in Madison, website celebrates history
The Nelson Institute at UW-Madison is hosting a two-day conference on Earth Day after 40 years. In a keynote by noted Environmental History Prof. Bill Cronon, one angle involved reasons for Wisconsin having such a strong environmental record, and the UW itself was identified as one of the major factors in providing continuity. An alumnus of this institution who was participating in the event says Cronon mentioned UW-Stevens Point and UW-Green Bay as being two shining examples of UW System commitment to the cause.

Incidentally, this same alumnus points us in the direction of an excellent website by the Nelson Institute honoring the late Sen. Gaylord Nelson and including “origins of Earth Day” documents and video.
