1965 Room, University Union, Green Bay Campus or Virtual via Teams (RSVP by Sept. 26 to receive link)

Faculty and Staff Social Media Advocacy Training

Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

1965 Room, University Union, Green Bay Campus or Virtual via Teams (RSVP by Sept. 26 to receive link)

Knowing social media algorithms prioritize connections with people, your voice is an important element of a thriving social media program. Come learn how you/your department can be an integral part of the University’s social media presence through this professional development opportunity! You are welcome to join if you have attended this presentation in the past. We’ve upgraded to a more “201”-level training (but will also still cover some basics!)

What we’ll cover:

  • Overview of UW-Green Bay’s target audience & social media program
  • Social media platform-specific tips, tools, trends and features
  • Social media and advocacy best practices for success

And you’ll learn about six steps to be a social media advocate:

  • Understanding your audience
  • Building and enhancing your social presence
  • Finding your content niche
  • Growing your following with consistency
  • Sharing your story
  • Engaging your community

This presentation will be presented in partnership by UW-Green Bay Digital Communication Specialist Jena Richter Landers and members of the social media team at Hiebing, a marketing and advertising agency.

To register for one or both sessions, please RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 26. Recordings will be available after the sessions if you are unable to make it. To get on the list for recordings or for questions, please email richterj@uwgb.edu.
