Pride Centers open at UWGB Sheboygan and Manitowoc campuses
New Pride Centers in Sheboygan and Manitowoc will be places for students and community members to socialize and seek support.“People from the community have come in and are just very excited to have something like this,” said Stacie Christian, former director of University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Pride Center system. “We all wish we had something like it when we were college-age. It helps you form a community that identifies with you and find people who are supportive.”A Pride Center at UW-Green Bay was established 10 years ago and another opened at the university’s Marinette campus a few years ago. Now, all of UWGB’s campuses have Pride Centers that run events for students and the broader community, bolstering UWGB’s continued position as one of the Campus Pride Index’s top-rated LGBTQ+ friendly colleges in the country.
