Phi Kappa Phi collecting eyeglasses for community service
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, UW-Green Bay chapter, is once again collecting eyeglasses for its community service project. Used prescription glasses, new or lightly used sunglasses and reading glasses will be collected to donate to Medical Missions Outreach (MMO).
The motive of MMO is to assist underdeveloped communities, providing care where it is most needed. MMO sends teams of medical professionals, students and volunteers around the world to partner with local missionaries and set up free medical and vision clinics. In fact, UW-Green Bay student Michelle Stauff has had the opportunity to be part of an MMO vision team! The vision clinics provide free vision screening, matches the prescription in the recycled glasses and gives them to someone in need.
Phi Kappa Phi will be collecting through May 1, 2019. There are donation boxes located around the Green Bay Campus in the following locations:
