Expanding opportunities: Two offices split $150K grant to promote internships

The UW-Green Bay Center for Public Affairs (CFPA) and Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) have received a $150,000 grant that will create more paid internships and turn previously unpaid internships into paying opportunities. The grant, from the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, will allow students to achieve educational and professional goals while meeting personal and family obligations, said CFPA Associate Director Ashley Heath. UW-Green Bay is one of 19 Wisconsin colleges and universities to receive some of the more than $2.5 million in Career Ready Internship Initiative grant funds. More details.
