UW-Green Bay dominates Two Rivers business idea competition

Sophomore Maria Arunkumar (Business Administration) and senior Sam Hunt (Mathematics) took first and second place, respectively, at the Light Up the Lakeshore Business Idea Competition, recently. Other UW-Green Bay students and alumni participating were Hannah Hastings ’18 (Accounting), Claire Bestul (Business Administration), Renee DeGrand (Business Administration) and Chelsea Georgia (Business Administration). The competition was supported by Two Rivers Biz Starts, Two Rivers Main Street, the City of Two Rivers and Rawley Point Economic Advisors and Austin E. Cofrin School of Business. UW-Green Bay’s Ryan Kauth served as an advisor to the competition and as an advisor to Two Rivers Biz Starts. First, second, and third place received cash prizes for their 90-second pitch. Judges scored the entrepreneurs based on problem, solution, target market, competitive advantage and presentation.
