In the news: Coverage of enrollment issues

We told you yesterday about some of the enrollment challenges being faced throughout the UW System, as the Board of Regents prepares to consider changing demographics and other factors during its meeting today. UW-Green Bay Dean of Enrollment Services Mike Stearney helped break down some of the issues for WLUK, Fox 11’s Eric Peterson during a Wednesday (Oct. 3) interview, noting a decline in the number of traditional-age students related to a drop in the state’s birth rate 18 years ago. Preliminary fall headcount at UW-Green Bay is actually up 100 students, 6,698 versus 6,598 a year ago and 6,579 in 2010. But other UW schools including River Falls and Milwaukee have seen declines this year. Full story.
