‘Eco U’ column: DJS’ Morgan writes about Wilderness Act

Assistant Prof. Eric Morgan penned a very “Eco U” column for Wednesday’s (Sept. 3) Green Bay Press-Gazette, writing about the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and how we should regard it today. Morgan invokes such environmental leaders as Wisconsin’s Aldo Leopold, quoting that Leopold’s land ethic reflects “a conviction of individual responsibility for the health of land.” We should act as stewards of the land, especially locally, Morgan notes, adding that his students this spring partnered with the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation to embrace the ideals of Leopold and others.
