Prof. Emeritus Michael Kraft was a featured guest during the 7 a.m. hour of Wisconsin Public Radio’s Joy Cardin Show Tuesday (July 8), discussing a new anti-environmentalist trend that’s been making headlines as of late. “Coal rolling” is the practice of diesel truck owners altering their truck’s chimney stacks so they spew thick black smoke. It’s become a form of protest in response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s crackdown on car exhaust filters. Kraft, Public and Environmental Affairs, discussed the practice during the program’s first half-hour Tuesday, talking about the political and environmental angles with host Cardin and callers to the show.
