Meders’ book on ‘medically fragile child’ getting attention

Margaret Meder and her husband, Randy Meder, an associate professor of music at UW-Green Bay, have shared their inspirational personal story of raising a child with special medical needs in a new book. Margaret Meder is primary author of Uncommon Beauty—Crisis Parenting from Day One. The book is now a finalist in the 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards at About.com in the category of “Special Needs Memoir.” “For Randy and me,” Margaret writes, “this is an opportunity to increase awareness of the issues surrounding Apert Syndrome and the families who care for children with special healthcare needs.” Voting takes place at
