We may not love the hot weather, but the tomatoes and peppers in the SLO Food Alliance garden sure do! It won’t be long until both will be available in abundance. Until then, stead yourself with some mid-summer garden produce for sale this week at the SLO Food Alliance produce stand: yellow, white and red onions, summer squash, beets, beans (green, yellow and purple), kale, a few eggplants, broccoli, green onions, basil, Swiss Chard, and assorted herbs. There will be a few meal packs available this week (pre-measured ingredients and a recipe) to accompany beet greens and Swiss chard. Visit the produce stand on the SS Plaza, noon – 1 p.m. this Wednesday (July 24), under the pergola.
