A fund designed to emphasize the “Eco” in “Eco U” has successfully financed its first major project, a bright red bike rack designed to encourage green commuting. Heba Mohammad, a second-year University of Wisconsin-Green Bay student active in student government and campus diversity initiatives, has been selected to receive a 2012 Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award presented by the UW System. UW-Green Bay faculty and staff members who nominated Mohammad for the UW System award praised her activism, advocacy, leadership abilities and institutional contributions to improve the status and climate for women of color.
