The Pride Center is holding SAFE Ally Level 1 training Monday, Feb. 12 from noon to 2 p.m. and Level 2 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Manistique Room, University Union. Two Pride Center interns and Director Stacie Christian, Ph.D. will talk about LGBTQ+ topics and how to be inclusive of LGBTQ+ at UWGB and in the community. SAFE Ally Level 1 and 2 training offered

The Pride Center is holding SAFE Ally Level 1 training Friday, Nov. 10 from 8 to 10 a.m. and Level 2 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the 1965 Room, University Union. Learn about recent changes in laws and current social justice advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals and how to be an ally for people who are LGBTQ+. Pride Center offers SAFE Ally Training

The Pride Center is offering SAFE Ally training on Friday, April 7 in the University Union World Unity B meeting room next to the Phoenix Club. Level 1 will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, and Level 2 will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. SAFE Ally training offers insights for allies who wish to support and advocate for LGBTQ+ individuals. Please RSVP to ensure a space in this class in the by contacting Stacie Christian, christis@uwgb.edu. These courses count towards the requirements for the Inclusivity and Equity Certificate Program Certificate.

Pride Center Anniversary and SAFE Ally training

The Pride Center’s fifth anniversary celebration will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 on the first floor of the University Union across from The Grille and Zatar. Refreshments will be provided.

SAFE Ally training will take place Monday, Feb.13. Level 1 is from 10 a.m. to noon, Level 2 is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. If you are interested in attending either training, contact Stacie Christian at christis@uwgb.edu.

Safe Ally level 1 training

Did you know that the Pride Center has trained more than 650 people in SAFE Ally Level 1 in the past four-plus years? You can receive a SAFE Ally sticker to indicate to others that you have completed the training and want to be known as an ally for LGBTQ+ students and employees. Take the opportunity to enroll in the final session of SAFE Ally level 1 for fall 2016. Four more seats are open for the session from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Nov. 7, in Wood Hall near the Center for First Nations Studies. The Pride Center is offering SAFE Ally level 1 and 2 training on Monday, Sept. 26 in the World Unity B meeting room next to the Phoenix Club. Level 1 is student-lead and is from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Level 2 is led by Stacie Christian, Director of Inclusive Excellence and Pride Center from 12:30 p.m to 2:00 p.m. SAFE Ally training provides opportunities for students and employees to talk about safe space and campus support for LGBTQ+ individuals.

The Pride Center is offering SAFE Ally Level 1 training from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14. To RSVP please e-mail Stacie Christian at christis@uwgb.edu. More than 600 employees and students have completed SAFE Ally training in recent years. The Pride Center also offers training for specific departments per request.
