UW-Green Bay students, alumni and fans have a Rockin’ time at the Resch Center

Nearly 1,000 fans participated in the first-ever Rock the Resch event, Friday, Feb. 25, 2017, at the The Bar on Holmgren Way and the Resch Center. The “homecoming-type” tailgate sponsored by the UW-Green Bay Alumni Association preceded a fan March to the Resch and a Phoenix men’s basketball game. Didn’t make it? The video and photo gallery will give you a taste of what you missed and why you will want to register next year.

Every Friday is Phoenix Friday…and more!

Tailgate at the Spirit Week finale event “Rock the Resch” beginning at 4 p.m. tonight before heading over to the Resch Center at 6 p.m. to cheer on your Phoenix at the Green Bay men’s basketball game against Oakland. The Phoenix Bookstore offers 20% off when you present the school fight song. Also on Phoenix Friday, the 6:30 Concert Series continues with “A Very Small Consortium” ensemble at 6:30 p.m. in the Weidner Center Fort Howard Hall. For some laughs, check out comedian Tim Hawkins at 7:30 p.m. in the Weidner Center Cofrin Family Hall. UW-Green Bay Theatre will present “The Importance of Being Earnest” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. “The Edge of Seventeen” is playing at CheapSeats-only $2 per ticket with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. all weekend long.

Spirit Week is underway

Spirit Week is underway at UW-Green Bay, leading up to the first-ever Rock the Resch event on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017. The Phoenix Bookstore is offering some great deals this week as well:

  • Wear green on Thursday for “Go Green, wear it, too.”
  • Receive a free bandana with a $10 purchase at the Bookstore.
  • Enjoy free pizza and karaoke in the Phoenix Club for Phoenix Nite from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

  • Phoenix Pride Day: Receive 20% off UW-Green Bay spirit wear when you present the school fight song at the bookstore prior to Rock the Resch and the Green Bay Men’s Basketball game. Yes, that means you’ve gotta sing to get your discount!

More than 200 prospects and families on campus Friday, Feb. 24

On Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, UW-Green Bay will be hosting two great events for admitted freshman students. During the day, more than 200 visitors will be on campus for Admitted Student Day — a chance to meet faculty and staff, learn about financial aid and take the next steps as a student for Fall 2017. That same evening about 150 admitted students and guests will attend the Admitted Student Basketball Game (and Rock the Resch event) at the Resch Center. Please give a warm welcome to admitted students and guests as you see them on campus.

Video: It’s time to Rock the Resch!

Green Bay men’s basketball coach Linc Darner and Chancellor Gary L. Miller invite you to Rock the Resch! This first-time event gathers students, alumni and friends to a pregame tailgate party for the entire family, followed by a Green Bay men’s basketball game, Friday, Feb. 24. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Bar on Holmgren Way, and tip-off for the game is 6 p.m. next door at the Resch Center. It promises to be fun, with a live band, food, and an “epic” long-sleeve T-shirt (it glows). Students are free, but should still register. Anyone else can register here.
