Phoenix Friday

Join UW-Green Bay for ‘Phoenix’ Fridays on the Fox, July 29

Let’s turn CityDeck green! Join UW-Green Bay on Friday, July 29 for the second Phoenix takeover of Green Bay’s popular summertime riverside concert series, “Associated Bank’s Fridays on the Fox.” Fridays on the Fox concerts are free and take place Friday evenings in the summer on Downtown Green Bay’s CityDeck. Stop and have a blast with Big Mouth and the Power Tool Horns — a band known for an eclectic mix of blues, jazz and original music — consisting of many UW-Green Bay alumni. While you’re there, show your Phoenix pride. Wear green, or your favorite Phoenix apparel and visit the UW-Green Bay booth near the Splashpad (intersection of Pine St. off of Washington St.) for giveaways and Phlash photo opportunities. A Phenomenal Phoenix Friday, in pictures

It was a terrific turnout for Phoenix Friday on the Fox last week, as UW-Green Bay students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends gathered for good music and great company in downtown Green Bay. The gathering was held in conjunction with the city of Green Bay’s Fridays on the Fox free concert series, which has become a fixture on the downtown CityDeck in recent years. Set against the soundtrack of Piano Fondue (dueling pianos), UW-Green Bay attendees donned their Phoenix finest and enjoyed games, giveaways and great prizes — not to mention plenty of love from mascot Phlash. See our great new photos.

Here’s a friendly reminder that as part of the kickoff to Associated Bank’s Fridays on the Fox series, UW-Green Bay is inviting all students, alumni, supporters and Phoenix fans to attend Phoenix Friday on the Fox on from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday, June 27. The fun night on the CityDeck in downtown Green Bay will celebrate the University and downtown, and will include socializing, games, activities and giveaways for kids and adults, live music from Piano Fondue (dueling pianos), an appearance by Phlash the Phoenix and much more. Wear your Phoenix gear for a chance to win great prizes, and look for your fellow (phellow?) Phoenix near the UW-Green Bay Alumni and Phoenix Athletics sail banners. And Phoenix Friday at UW-Green Bay

Why not also declare Phoenix Friday at UW-Green Bay, since the hope is that many faculty and staff members will grab their families and head over to Phoenix Friday on the Fox shortly after work? Get in the spirit all day long. Hang your pennants, wear your logoed apparel, drink from your UWGB water bottles and mugs, carry your Phoenix portfolios to every meeting. You get the idea.
