Wet Paint, Fresh Pride: That’s one big bird

Class of 2020 incoming freshmen painted the first ever giant Phoenix between the University Union and Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus, Sept. 1, 2016. Organizers hope it is the start of a new orientation tradition.

100-plus for New Student Orientation this Friday

About 100 students and their guests will be attending New Student Orientation this Friday. This year the program has been revamped to increase opportunities for students to interact with staff/faculty advisors, and to learn more detail about UWGB’s academic programs and campus services. The focus is to provide students with a more personalized experience that will assist them as they transition to UW-Green Bay. Please welcome our new students if you see them on Friday. For more information feel free to reach out to Deanne Kusserow in Academic Advising or Andrew Meyer in Admissions.

Move-In Day isn’t over yet… join Campus Welcome at 3:30 pm

Faculty and staff are invited to join the FOCUS team in welcoming the Class of 2018 at the Kress Event Center at 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 28). The Campus Welcome is the official kick off to FOCUS Orientation which runs through Saturday night. During this hour-long event, our newest students will hear from campus leadership, participate in some activities and be warmly welcomed by their new community.

Gearing up for FOCUS

Brenda Amenson-Hill, dean of students and FOCUS co-director, reminds us that the welcome-to-campus activities for UW-Green Bay’s newest freshman class begin in earnest Thursday (Aug. 30) and continues through next weekend.  Thanks, in advance, to all faculty and staff members who are participating and also to those who just offer a friendly word or helpful hand as they encounter our orientation participants over the coming days and weeks. Along with move-in day Thursday morning, the other big event that day involves a 3 p.m. welcome ceremony at the Kress Events Center. If you’d like to get a feel for the full Orientation schedule, click on the “calendar” button at the FOCUS website.
