Audi Jepson, of the Green Bay men’s soccer team, was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Great Lakes Region First Team recently, capping off an already stellar career with the Phoenix. The senior who played his high school soccer at Green Bay Preble, was also named the Horizon League’s Offensive Player of the Year and a member of the league’s first team.
Green Bay men’s soccer, the Horizon League’s regular season champion, fell 2-0 to UIC in the the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Championship, in Chicago, Ill., Nov. 11, 2017. UIC managed to score twice late to claim the tournament crown and automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. “We played 78 minutes of championship level soccer,” head coach Jeremy Bonomo said. “Unfortunately, UIC played 90 minutes. Our guys have nothing to hang their heads about from this season. I’m very proud of what they were able to accomplish all year.” Green Bay closes out the 2017 campaign with a 9-5-3 record and its first-ever Horizon League regular-season championship.
One week after a thrilling double-overtime victory at Aldo Santaga Stadium to clinch a share of the Horizon League regular season championship, the Green Bay men’s soccer team secured the title outright with a 1-0 win at Northern Kentucky, doing so once again in double overtime. Tomer Zloczower was the hero of the night for the Phoenix, netting the game-winner in the 103rd minute on a free kick just outside the box. Green Bay closed out the season with the best mark in Horizon League play in the program’s history at 7-1-1. The Phoenix also clinched the No. 1 seed heading into next week’s tournament.
The Green Bay men’s soccer players can call themselves Horizon League champions. Senior Audi Jepson’s lone goal in a win at Aldo Santaga Stadium last week, helped Green Bay to a league-best record of 6-1-1 with one league match left. UIC sits at 16 points and can do no better than tie the Phoenix to share the regular season title. Green Bay can clinch the regular season outright and earn the No. 1 seed with a win or draw Friday, Nov. 3 (6 p.m. CST) at Northern Kentucky.

Men’s soccer coach Jeremy Bonomo agreed to a two-year contract through 2021 according to Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie. “We are excited about the future of Green Bay soccer under the leadership of Jeremy Bonomo,” she said. “He has created a vision for elevating our program on the field, off the field and in the classroom and it is working. He is exactly the right person to be leading our young men.
