Strahan was plugging his alma mater, Texas Southern, and since the team was playing against UW-Green Bay in Collegeinsider.com Tournament (CIT) Tuesday, the Phoenix was also mentioned. Fortunately for Green Bay, his “good luck” wishes fell on deaf ears as Green Bay downed Texas Southern to advance to the CIT championship. See the video.

Green Bay men’s basketball advances to CIT quarterfinal after blowout win

Phoenix men’s basketball to host second-round CIT game, Tuesday, March 26

The Green Bay men’s basketball team is the only D-I Wisconsin team left playing in the post season and has the rare opportunity to host  a second-round game, Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Register now for Krash the Kress, Feb. 1

Krash the Kress is the “Big Game” of Homecoming 2019, and it’s free for UW-Green Bay students! Alumni and UW-Green Bay friends and family are encouraged to take part in the fun too! The Green Bay men’s basketball team will be playing rival Milwaukee on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at 7 p.m. at UW-Green Bay’s Kress Center. A tailgate party will take place in the Kress Center East and West Gyms from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. to get everyone ready to cheer on the Phoenix! The UW-Green Bay Pep Band, Green Bay cheerleaders and Phlash will be there too. There are also art and music events surrounding Homecoming. Krash the Kress registration includes:

  • Your game ticket
  • Great tailgate food
  • Two beverage tickets good for Bud products or soda
  • An “epically awesome,” Homecoming t-shirt
  • Fun swag to cheer on the team
  • Lots of drawings for fantastic prizes, including a semester of tuition valued at $4,000 for a student in attendance!
