UW-Green Bay’s Lifelong Learning Institute launches 60th semester

Green Bay, WI – On Nov. 22, 2021, UW-Green Bay’s Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) officially launches its 60th semester with the release of an online catalog of courses on their website. The Spring 2022 catalog features 198 courses on wide-ranging topics taught by retired faculty and other experts and enthusiasts.

Courses range from “Legal Issues in Retirement” to “Women in World War II,” and from “Gentle Yoga” to “Wild Edibles in Wisconsin.” Courses delve into local communities, representing all four UW-Green Bay campus locations—Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette and Sheboygan—covering topical issues and responding to trends in the wider culture. (The latest catalog includes four courses on brewing created by local breweries.)

As holiday shoppers search for more creative, thoughtful and experience-based gifts, a gift membership to Lifelong Learning Institute could be the ideal choice.

If you’d like to know more before you buy, LLI is hosting an “Intro to Lifelong Learning Institute” event that introduces the community to what they can experience as members. The event will be available to all locations via Zoom on Wednesday, November 17, from 10-11:30 a.m. No RSVP is necessary – just come with your curiosity. Go to www.uwgb.edu/lli for the Zoom link. During the event, you will learn more about classes and benefits of memberships, and you will get to experience a “Basic Line Dancing” course.

The Lifelong Learning Institute is a member-led program sponsored by UW-Green Bay’s Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement. The Institute is designed for adults interested in learning and community.

Spring offers a one-time a year opportunity to join for a semester at $75. In the fall, LLI will once again offer academic year memberships, which include fall and spring.

Other benefits to membership include exclusive invitations to social events, lending privileges to the LLI educational DVD library, early bird notice of registration, subscription to members-only newsletter and special invitations to unique day trip and domestic travel opportunities (may require an extra fee).

Registration is completely online. A 20+-page catalog of classes will be available by 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22 at www.lli@uwgb.edu and at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 registration will open when members can sign-up for their shortlist of courses. Members are encouraged to register early for the best selection.
