UW-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series begins with ‘Lydia Frumkin, piano’
GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series opens its season with, “Lydia Frumkin, piano” on Wednesday, Sept 19, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Weidner Center’s Fort Howard Hall. Her performance will feature the piano music of Franz Schubert. The concert is free and open to the public.
Pianist Lydia Frumkin is Professor Emerita at the Oberlin College Conservatory and faculty member of the Washington Conservatory of Music. Music and Time Magazine wrote “Lydia Frumkin is one of those remarkable musicians whose virtuosity is leavened with romantic sweep, depth of feeling and delicate touch…Her performances are infused with a refreshing element of improvisation.”
Professor Frumkin will offer a master class in Fort Howard Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. This event is also free and open to the public.
The 6:30 Concert Series is designed to connect the campus with the community through the exploration of music. Performances feature insightful presentations by performers, composers, and special guests. The series offers new perspectives on diverse styles, often exploring the music from multiple angles.

Perhaps the most versatile space in the Weidner Center, the 45’ x 54’ 200-seat, theatre-style hall features a beautiful hardwood floor and retractable seating.
