UW-Green Bay hosts faculty jazz camp recital
Faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will be joined by several guest artists for a free jazz concert on Thursday, July 29 as part of the Jazz on the Bay summer camp.
Students taking part in the camp will be treated to the professional concert that features camp instructors and several special guests.
The recital features Prof. John Salerno on the saxophone. Salerno, who directs the jazz program at UW-Green Bay, teaches saxophone, composition and jazz-related courses on campus. He is a published composer and arranger of music.
Chris Salerno, director of the UW-Green Bay Vocal Jazz Ensemble, will also perform at the recital.
Guest artists include UW-Green Bay alumni Steve Johnson ’03, saxophone, and Terry Iattoni ’93, drums; and three-time Grammy nominee vocalist Todd Buffa, vocalist Ken Daniel and bassist Evan Halloin.
The concert is free and open to the public. It starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 29 in the University Theatre on the UW-Green Bay campus at 2420 Nicolet Drive.
