UW-Green Bay connects employees and employers at Learning While Earning Expo

A collaboration with Brown County Job Center at the Greater Green Bay Chamber

Green Bay, WI — UW-Green Bay connects employees and employers at an exciting, new and forward-thinking event – Learning While Earning Expo on Wednesday, May 3, from 1-5 p.m. at Riverside Ballroom, Green Bay. The event encourages high school students, college students and job seekers to connect with area employers who are committed to the long-term growth of employees with tuition and education assistance.

If employers are struggling to attract or retain high performers, tuition assistance could be the solution. According to a report by Gallup, 45% of Millennials report they would change their job for tuition reimbursement benefits. In addition, 43% of working adults are unaware if their employer offers such a program, according to a report by the Lumina Foundation.

“The purpose of the Learning While Earning Expo is to introduce businesses that have strong tuition assistance programs with potential employees,” said Jess Lambrecht, Executive Officer, Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement. “Our goal is to facilitate the connection between potential employees and employers and help anyone who wants to learn to achieve their ultimate career goals through education. Training and development is highly critical to our regional workforce needs, and community members are looking for a  more affordable approach to their educational goals.”
