GREEN BAY — Special guest musicians and the State-Bound Honor Band will be a part of a University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22.

The concert is in the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, 2420 Nicolet Drive. Tickets are $7 for adults or $5 for students and seniors, and are available at the door, or in advance by calling (800) 328-8587 or online at www.uwgb.edu/tickets/performing.html.

The concert features the musical talents of UW-Green Bay professors David Severtson, John Salerno and Terence O’Grady, who will play with both the UW-Green Bay Symphonic Band and the Wind Symphony.
Former UW-Green Bay faculty member Scott Wright, a music professor at the University of Kentucky, will guest conduct the State-Bound Honor Band, a band made up of some of the area’s top musicians who received outstanding ratings at solo contests.

Piano Prof. David Severtson will perform Philip Rothman’s “Departure Point” for solo piano and wind ensemble.

Saxophone Prof. John Salerno will premiere the work, “Nocturne,” by Musicologist Prof. Terence O’Grady.
Also played will be Rothman’s “The Gift of Peace,” which is thematically tied to the UW-Green Bay campus Common Theme, “Waging War, Waging Peace.”

UW-Green Bay Prof. Kevin Collins directs both the symphonic band and the wind symphony.
