Davis, Van Gruensven Named to UW-Green Bay Leadership Team

GREEN BAY – UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller announced today the permanent selection of two key members of his leadership team. Greg Davis has been named the University’s Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Sheryl L. Van Gruensven, has been named Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance. Both had been serving interim roles prior to today’s announcement.

The Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has oversight of all academic programs, curriculum development processes; assessment and testing services; faculty and staff development; institutional accreditation; institutional research; inter-institutional academic agreements; international education programs and graduate education and research.  The Provost is second to the chancellor on the leadership team and the key strategic leader for the academic mission. Davis will report directly to the Chancellor and serves on the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Van Gruensven was named Interim Vice Chancellor in August of 2015 to fill the leadership position vacated by Kelly J. Franz. The Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance reports directly to the chancellor and is the institution’s lead administrator for budgeting, accounting and fiscal control. The position oversees roughly 175 employees and a range of business operations and services, including buildings and grounds, facilities planning, the controller’s office, purchasing, risk management, human resources, the campus bookstore, the student union, the campus golf course, motor pool, parking and public safety.

Davis’ and Van Gruensven’s appointments are effective as of March 15, 2016.
