Local group joins UW-Green Bay Chorale, Concert Choir for March 12 concert

The UW-Green Bay Chorale and Concert Choir along with special guests, Green Bay Choral Artists, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Cofrin Family (main) Hall at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.

This concert will present selections from a wide variety of composers, including W. A. Mozart, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Johannes Brahms and more. Associate Prof. Randall Meder will conduct the evening’s performance.

The UW-Green Bay Concert Choir will start the evening off by performing “Missa Brevis,” (W.A. Mozart) and will feature soloists: Michaela Hogan, Lauren Paul, Lane Ludtke and Nicholas Schommer.

Green Bay Choral Artists will take the stage next and perform “Fair Phyllis I saw” (John Farmer), “O Vos Omnes” (Tomás Luis de Victoria), and “Dixit Maria” (Hans Leo Hassler). They will finish their performance with “Quick, we have but a second” (Charles Villiers Stanford).

After a brief intermission, the UW-Green Bay Chorale will kick off their performance with “Surgens Jesus” by Peter Philips. The group will also perform “Weep, O Mine Eyes” (John Bennet), “Il est bel et bon” (Pierre Passereau), and “Sechs Lieder und Romanzen” the 6 movement suite by Johannes Brahms featuring a solo by Michaela Hogan, soprano. The performance continues with “The Road Home” (Stephen Paulus) and features a solo by Assistant Prof. Courtney Sherman, soprano. “I Sing, You Sing” (Anders Edenroth) will conclude the performance for the evening.
