Institute for Learning Partnership offers grants to educators

GREEN BAY — Educators in Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) districts 7 and 8 who desire to carry out classroom or school projects to improve the quality of teaching or learning are invited to apply for grants from the Institute for Learning Partnership at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Up to $35,000 will be awarded for 2009-2010. All teachers, administrators and other professionals affiliated with CESA districts 7 and 8 are eligible to apply. CESA districts 7 and 8 encompass much of Northeastern Wisconsin.

Proposals for projects of up to $7,500 will be accepted. Project proposals that explore effective approaches to closing the achievement gap will receive special consideration.

The Institute expects to award 10 to 15 projects under $1,500; four to nine from $1,500 to $3,000; three to five from $3,000 to $5,000; and one to three from $5,000 to $7,500.

The grant application deadline is 4:30 pm on March 13, 2009.

The Institute for Learning Partnership brings together area K-12 educators, universities, colleges, businesses, and community leaders in order to improve learning for all in grades pre-kindergarten through 16.
