Misplaced gun greets restroom user
An employee of UW-Green Bay’s contract dining service began and ended a mid-day visit to a University Union bathroom Friday with a surprising discovery. He found an unattended loaded gun in a stall in the men’s room. It was left on top of a toilet paper dispenser. The surprised employee called police. Meanwhile, at about the same time, the Office of Public Safety fielded a telephone call after an armored-car security guard realized he had left the weapon behind a few minutes earlier during his brief visit to campus, which included a restroom break. The gun was secured and no one was hurt. The Log can additionally report that authorities believe the incident was entirely inadvertent.
