Might stimulus fund repairs at UW-Green Bay?

Gov. Jim Doyle has given Washington officials a sweeping wish list of $3.7 billion in highway, education, environment and energy-saving projects that he said could be started by spring, if President-elect Obama and Congress agree on a stimulus package for states, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The list includes several for UW-Green Bay. These are ‘deferred maintenance’ projects — requested by the campus and confirmed as necessary by state facilities inspectors — already on the UW System priority list but awaiting funding. Roof replacement for Theatre Hall, Studio Arts and the Physical Plant account for about $940,000 in big-ticket, building-related items; major road work for Circle Drive and updates to Wood Hall and Lab Sciences parking lots would be another $1.4 million.
