Green Bay men are No. 1 (in RPI), and attracting attention

Returning home this week from one of the biggest victories in program history, the Phoenix men’s basketball team also returned Monday to the top spot nationally in the NCAA’s official RPI rankings. (The early-season computer model, click here, credits UW-Green Bay for playing one of the nation’s toughest schedules and faring fairly well. The upset road win over AP No. 15 Miami was a big boost, as were three wins in the Gulf Coast Showcase tourney.) Sporting News commented on Green Bay’s lofty ranking.
