Sykes sets record with latest Horizon ‘Player of the Week’

In the decades-long history of the Horizon League, no men’s basketball player had ever piled up 11 “Player of the Week” honors. Until this week, when UW-Green Bay’s star guard, Keifer Sykes, earned the honor after a three-win stretch in which the Phoenix won the Gulf Coast Showcase and Sykes was named tourney MVP. Sykes has won the Horizon League weekly award 11 of the past 38 times it has been handed out. (He broke the record formerly held by Detroit Titans standout Rashad Phillips.) See more.
