UW-Green Bay’s signature Phuture Phoenix program got a front-page mention in Tuesday’s Press-Gazette, in a story on boosting ACT participation at Green Bay West High School. West this fall launched a test-preparation course with help from a Phuture Phoenix grant, aiming to get more students to take — and improving performance on — the college-entrance exam, the newspaper reported. Among Green Bay’s four high schools, West had the lowest percentage of seniors last year who took the ACT, and officials are looking to change that. Forty-five West students are enrolled in the voluntary program. Full story.
