Phuture Phoenix draws a crowd
UW-Green Bay’s student population swelled by better than 1,200 with a pair of Phuture Phoenix days this week. Fifth-graders were invited to spend a day on campus to learn about the college experience. This week’s Phuture Phoenix Day participation, by the numbers:
Tuesday
Children visiting: 831
Role models/mentors: 240
Stafffaculty participation: 91
Thursday
Children visiting: 442
Role models/mentors: 70
Stafffaculty participation: 15
The Phuture Phoenix program reports that about 100 UW-Green Bay college students are active in the mentoring program and will continue their involvement through site visits to the children in their schools.
