Jamaica travel course a new offering

In a new education travel course, “Cultural Images in Materials for Children and Adolescents,” only the country of Jamaica will be the classroom. Students will learn about multicultural issues that emerge in schools today and become empowered to be an active “global citizen” through carefully designed activities including guided tours, visits to a Maroon Festival, story telling and guest speakers, visits to cultural centers, volunteer activities and climbing the famous Dunn’s River falls. Applications for the course are due by Friday, Oct. 24. Contact course instructors Juliet Cole (Institute for Learning Partnership, colej@uwgb.edu) or Prof. Jolanda Sallmann (Social Work, sallmanj@uwb.edu) for more information.
