Close-ups: ‘Bash in the Stacks’ 2012 celebrates library
The award-winning academic library at UW-Green Bay showed again why it’s adept at turning the tables on the old stereotype of libraries being quiet, serious places where librarians say “Shhhhhhhh” a lot. Bash in the Stacks III, the annual fun and games night and library open house, was held on a Thursday night in September when the hometown Green Bay Packers just happened to be playing a national-TV game. Between the tricycle races, the TVs tuned to the game, the sumo wrestling suits, the family activities and more, it was a lively night… and a great way to get new students, in particular, comfortable with the staff, the facility and its abundant learning resources.
