UW-Green Bay to host ‘Take Back the Night’, an event advocating for the end of sexual violence on college campuses

The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay’s Healthy Choices Task Force and partners are hosting the 2nd annual Take Back the Night program and march October 12, 2022. The event begins at Phoenix Park and the details are as follows:

  • 4:00pm Chalk the Walk
  • 5:30pm Resource Fair and Food
  • 6:30pm Program Begins
    • Chancellor reads land acknowledgement
    • Mayor shares support
    • Dr. King speaks on men’s involvement
  • 7:45pm March Through Campus
  • 8:30pm Phoenix Statue Vigil
    • Light candles
    • Share poems

All UW-Green Bay faculty and staff are welcome to attend and are encouraged to spread the word to students in their classes.

Take Back the Night is an international movement to empower communities to fight back against sexual and interpersonal violence. Marching shows support for survivors and shares resources, while showing the community that violence will not be tolerated here. This year is also the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, which provides protections to survivors of interpersonal violence.
