More on ‘Fitness Freakout’

If you skimmed through the photo gallery at https://news.uwgb.edu/index.php/featured/close-ups/09/22/campus-life/ you no doubt noticed the many shots from the Kress Center, including the wide-angle look at 100 or more students who took over the main Events Center floor for a workout during the Sept. 15 “Fitness Freakout.” Dianne Bornhoft-Blanch, the facility’s fitness coordinator, says the free event invited one and all “to release the fitness freak inside of them.” It was also a chance to demo the fitness classes that are offered in the aerobics studio all semester. Staffers demonstrated cardio kick boxing, pilates, yoga, butts and guts, ab attack and zumba. All told, about 180 people, mostly students, took part. They enjoyed free Gatorade, Life water, and regular water… drawings for 16 gifts courtesy of the Phoenix Bookstore and 2nd Wind Fitness, among others… and a T-shirt toss and water-bottle giveaway from various vendors. Says Bornhoft-Blanch, “It was a successful night. There was a lot of sweating and a lot of laughing. It was just a really great night.”
