Touching faculty story: new folder, new perspective

by Jena Richter Landers · September 20, 2017

The UW-Green Bay social media team discovered a touching story from Instagram. Read this post from Instagram user emmmmaakatie highlighting a great example of how personable UW-Green Bay faculty can be as they help students Learn. Do. Be. More.

emmmaakatie instagram post

“I was meeting with my stats teacher during her office hours and explaining how bad I am at math and how I’ve taught myself to hate numbers and how my math folders are always red because they’re the closest color option that represents hell. And she took my folder away and gave me this new UWGB green one and said “please use this folder for my class because green is for growth and math doesn’t have to be hell anymore” and I may or may not have cried. God bless all the teachers out there who genuinely believe their students can succeed regardless of their circumstance. You’re the real heroes.”
