Ride on: Bike rack is first project of UW-Green Bay Sustainability Fund
If you do much walking around campus, you’ve likely noticed a new, bright red shelter sandwiched between the Cofrin Library, MAC Hall and the Kress Center. Maybe you’ve even parked there — your bike, that is. The newly added, 22-bike covered rack is the first purchase from the UW-Green Bay Sustainability Fund, which uses segregated fees to finance ‘green’ projects around campus. Students suggest and select the projects, which are paid for with just less than $2 in fees per semester, per student. The new shelter is designed to encourage ‘green’ commuting, while its bright red color and prominent location ensure the structure can’t be missed.
