A’viands arrives
A’viands Food Service is on the job at UW-Green Bay, having taken over last Saturday (Aug. 1) following seven years of food service by Sodexo. The institution selected A’viands as the new provider through a competitive bid/RFP process with eventual Board of Regents contract approval. Contract administrator Rick Warpinski notes that many changes have and will occur with A’viands management of all retail and catering. Some of those changes:
• a new service line and menu offering in the Garden Café including Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and specialty salads made while you wait;
• A’viands sub/deli concept – Sweet Pepper’s Deli on the first floor of the University Union next to The Grille adjacent to the Phoenix Club; and
• the Marketplace in Leona Cloud Commons will have all new concepts and menus designed to meet the varied needs of the student body and campus community.
A message introducing A’viands to the campus community, with some details on the company and their interest in the UW-Green Bay account, can be found at www.uwgb.edu/union/dining.html.
Also new this week is Pat Niles, who is leading the on-site team as director of food service. Fazli Ademi is staying on as executive chef. The A’viands on-site management team has a new office suite – UU 130 – located next to DigiCopy on the University Union’s first floor behind the Phoenix Club. The phone numbers remain the same as in the directory and will be updated with the new phone directory. As always, if you have concerns or questions, please feel free to contact Dining Contract Administrator Rick Warpinski at (920) 465-2090 or warpinsr@uwgb.edu.
