Fabulous freshman: Younger Lukan earns spot on Canada’s Junior National team

Incoming freshman hoopster Kaili Lukan (her sister is Phoenix women’s basketball teammate Megan) has been named to Canada’s U18 Junior National team. The younger Lukan was one of 30 players from Canada who received an invite to try out for the team, with 12  chosen — and there’s a good chance she could be named starting point guard. The team will compete in the FIBA U18 national championship Aug. 15-19 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. Lukan is one of five freshmen joining the Phoenix for the 2012-13 season. Full story.
