Camp season is here

Mona Christensen, director of camps and conferences for the Division of Outreach and Adult Access, reports that youth summer camps are up and running for 2013 with the first big week of academic enrichment activities. What’s going on? Plenty:

• Middle School Summer Art Studio in the Studio Arts Building, with a public show at Friday at 3 p.m. and awards announced at 4 p.m.;
• Camp Invention in MAC Hall;
• The WSMA Honors Camp (organized by Wisconsin School Music Association) is taking place in SA, Theatre Hall and the Weidner Center, with public concerts Tuesday and Saturday morning;
• The Wisconsin Choral Directors Association camp through Tuesday in the Christie Theatre; and
• Aviation Day at Austin Straubel Field.

Mona tells us next week’s activities include Senior High Summer Art Studio, Rocketry Camp, and a joint Bellin College of Nursing camp.
