Phoenix star Ricketts makes Canada’s national team
Tosaint Ricketts was on the roster when the Canadian national team recorded a 1-0 victory over Cypress in an international exhibition last month. The promotion made Ricketts the first former Phoenix soccer player to make a national team squad. Rickets was a top scorer and two-time all-league selection for UW-Green Bay, concluding his eligibility last fall. He signed a contract to play professionally for Finland’s Myllykosken Pallo team. If he sticks with the national team, the next match for Ricketts will be July 3 vs. Jamaica. To keep tabs on Ricketts and his Canadian team progress.
