Teaching grants for Arendt, Ranganathan, Rosewall, et al
Should have posted this item weeks if not months ago, but we goofed up. Better late than never, the LOG e-news reports that seven members of the faculty received spring semester 2009 Teaching Enhancement Grants awarded by the University’s Instructional Development Council. The grants total nearly $5,000 and range in amount from $300 to $1,000. Recipients are:
• Lucy Arendt, assistant professor, Business Administration, to participate and present at a national organizational behavior teaching conference, June
• Catherine Henze, associate professor, Humanistic Studies, to reconstruct, teach, perform and record music from Shakespeare’s plays
• Warren Johnson, associate professor, Human Biology, participate in the Experimental Biology 2009 conference, April
• Sarah Meredith Livingston, associate professor, Arts and Visual Design, the Wesley Balk Opera music-theatre institute, summer 2009
• Illene Noppe, professor, Human Development, national conference on death education and counseling, April
• Ellen Rosewall, associate professor, Arts and Visual Design, national arts-administration educators conference, April
• Sampathkumar Ranganathan, assistant professor, Business Administration, globalization seminar at the Center for International Education and Research, June
The Instructional Development Council offers the grant program to support professional development activities that will enhance a faculty member’s teaching skills or result in the development of innovative teaching strategies.
