JFC says UW faculty, staff should be allowed to unionize

The state’s Joint Finance Committee voted 12-4 Tuesday to allow nearly 20,000 faculty and academic staff in the UW System to pursue unionization, should they choose. The plan would allow up to 30 collective bargaining units in the UW System’s 13 four-year universities and 13 two-year colleges.
