Reminder: Two with UW-Green Bay ties to receive visual arts honors

Two art professionals with UW-Green Bay ties were selected to receive 2012 Wisconsin Visual Art Lifetime Achievement Awards. Alumnus Norb Kox and Anton (Tony) Rajer (the late husband of Prof. Christine Style of the art faculty) will receive recognition at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend. The event is open to the public.

The Lifetime Achievement Awards were founded in 2004 as a collaboration involving the MWA, Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA), and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. The awards are essentially the in-state “Hall of Fame” for individuals, groups and organizations or visual icons who have contributed to the visual arts with distinction.  Co-chairs of this year’s event are Graeme Reid from MWA, Randall Brendt from the Wisconsin Academy, and UW-Green Bay’s Christine Style, president of Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA). The WVALAA selection committee consisted of 15 Wisconsin art professionals.  To find our more about WVALAA, visit www.wvalaa.com.
