Dick Bennett earns Coach Wooden ‘Keys to Life’ Award at Final Four

Former UW-Green Bay Phoenix and Wisconsin Badgers basketball coach Dick Bennett was honored Saturday morning in Atlanta at the 17th annual Legends of the Hardwood Breakfast. Bennett received the national Coach Wooden Keys to Life Award as presented at the event co-hosted by Athletes In Action and the Fellowship for Christian Athletes. The award is presented annually to a basketball figure who models the credo of UCLA coaching legend John Wooden. Among the guiding principles espoused by Wooden were to be true to yourself, help others, celebrate life and friendships, build shelters against a rainy  day, learn from good books, and pray and give thanks every day. Speakers at the awards program included emcee and TNT personality Ernie Johnson, former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo. Read more and read more.
