Retiree couple shows support for stimulus with car purchase

Retired UW-Green Bay professors Joan and Michael Thron didn’t need a new car, but they bought one anyway to show support for President Barack Obama’s economic recovery plan, the Appleton Post Crescent reports. They took advantage of tax deductions the stimulus package includes by buying a new Toyota Prius in early March. “We felt this was a very good thing to do, to make a statement,” Michael Thron said.
